Looking for something new for a dinner party finale? Here's a dramatic flaming tea recipe.
3/4 cup Amaretto liqueur
3/4 cup cognac
6 cups strong almond-flavored tea, or flavor of your choice
2 cup orange juice, unsweetened
1 tbsp white sugar
orange slices for garnish
- Mix together the Amaretto and Cognac; set aside.
- In a chafing dish combine the brewed tea, orange juice, 1 cup of the liqueurs and the sugar. Heat to dissolve the sugar.
- Cut decorative notches in the orange slices and add to the chafing dish.
- In a small pot, heat the remaining liqueur until just warm.
- Using a long match, ignite the liqueur and pour the flaming mixture into the warm tea. Stir.
- After the flames die down, serve in warmed teacups or fancy mugs.
- Drink a toast to your friends!
