Baked Butterscotch Pudding

A cake-like baked pudding with a delicious butterscotch sauce.

Preheat oven to 350° F.

1/2 cup white sugar
2 tbsp butter
1/2 cup milk
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt

Combine above ingredients in the order given, then place the batter in a buttered baking dish.

Then make a syrup of:

1 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 cups boiling water

Pour this over the batter but don't stir.

The sauce goes to the bottom when cooked.

Bake at 350° F. about 30 minutes. Serve while still hot; delicious with vanilla ice cream or a bit of milk.
